Secratary & Treasurer
Diane Anderson
Diane Anderson and her husband, John, have been part of the Roadrunner family since 2010, when their oldest son began playing basketball. Diane has served in numerous roles on the Roadrunner board since 2014, including concessions coordinator, secretary, treasurer, coach, and volunteer extraordinaire. Diane was instrumental in establishing the Roadrunner program as a 501(c)3 in 2015.
Diane has been married to John for over 30 years. They have been homeschooling their seven children for over 23 years. Six of those seven children played at least one season of Roadrunner athletics. In addition to their seven fantastic children, they are proud grandparents to eight grandchildren, with more on the way. Diane’s favorite parts of the Roadrunner program are the friendships her family has made over the years and the coaches' emphasis on forming the players as virtuous athletes, focusing on the 5 R’s.

Executive Administrator
Sara Kangas
Sara and her husband, Jon, have been married for 16 years and have three children: Eli, Ali, and Madi. They attend Tribe Church and greatly appreciate their church community. They joined Roadrunners in 2023 and had a fantastic experience. As a former homeschooler, Sara recognized that thriving programs often rely on dedicated parents working behind the scenes, so she decided to contribute her support. She hopes that other families will find a safe environment for their children to develop character traits through sports that will benefit them both on and off the court for the rest of their lives.
As Executive Administrator, Sara handles all communication with new families, registration, and creates a smooth transition prior to the season.

Volleyball Manager
Melia Vankat
Melia Vankat, her husband Dave, and their 11 children have been part of the Roadrunner family since 2010. They have graduated 3 players and currently have 6 more playing. Melia has been on the board since 2019, but before that served the program in several different capabilities, including apparel coordinator and Concessions coordinator. The Omaha Roadrunners has been a huge blessing for the Vankat family and they look forward to many more years!
As Volleyball Manager, Melia helps guide & architect the volleyball program. From partnering with coaches to finding volunteers, she is the leader before and during the volleyball season.

Riley played homeschool basketball for six years, his last two for the Omaha Roadrunners where he lead them to a Division II National Championship. He has coached with the Roadrunners at various levels for 10 years. During those 10 years his teams have won multiple accolades including the Junior High Missouri Valley District Title in 2019.
He is married to Martina, a former homeschool player and former Volleyball Coach. They have three kids, Finley (6), Scout (4), and Jane (2).
As a board member, Riley primarily focuses on exploring growth opportunities & basketball season implementation.

At-Large Member
Greg Weiss
Greg joined the Board of Directors in 2024 as an At-Large Member. He and his wife, Sarah, are proud parents to nine daughters, six of whom have actively participated in Roadrunners volleyball.
Greg's love for sports began in his youth, where he played a variety of sports and cherished the valuable life lessons learned through those experiences. Prior to his involvement with the Roadrunners, he dedicated five years to coaching select baseball teams, highlighted by a 9U team that secured a National Championship. He is a strong advocate for the ability of sports to teach kids invaluable lessons in teamwork, perseverance, and how to navigate challenges collectively.
A former athlete himself, Greg was a member of the '99 state championship baseball team at Omaha Westside. His contributions, as a player, to the Westside baseball program were further recognized with the creation of the "Greg 'Walt' Weiss" award. Established in 2000 by the Omaha Westside Baseball Head Coach, this annual award is presented to a Westside varsity baseball player who best exemplifies the qualities of "hard working, good listening, excellence in preparation, and the drive to succeed at everything they do on and off the field." This esteemed award continues to be given out annually, more than two decades later. Not surprisingly, Greg is a huge fan of the “Max Effort” and “Servant Leader" awards that the Roadrunners give out annually.
Greg is deeply passionate about his faith and views sports as a powerful avenue for children to grow in all aspects of their lives. He believes the Omaha Roadrunners organization uniquely combines these two important elements.
